With all of these cold days we’ve been having, you may find yourself looking for something to do indoors. Next time this happens, why not try crafting? This week, POP! has some recommendations of crafts you can make that are not only fun, but sustainable! Here are our suggestions for some crafts to try out:

-  If you like plants, and want some more in your room this Spring, instead of going to Trader Joe’s and buying flowers (though they are great), try planting some of your own. If you have any extra egg cartons or food containers, you can reuse them as planters. If you’d like, you can paint the sides to add a personal touch.

- Make a collage! If you have any materials left over from packaging, gifts, etc. Try making a collage out of them. Your collage could be a fun gift or the newest addition to your dorm wall!

- If you’re feeling really creative, try making your own plant-based paints! If you have some spinach or berries that are going to go bad, muddle them with water (1:1 ratio). Then simply strain out any material you don’t want in your paint, add flour if you want it to be a bit thicker, and store for later.

Have fun making these sustainable crafts!
